Optionally you can extend your trek and visit Gona, Sananada and Buna. It is an ideal way to wind down following your trek.
If you want to do the extension, please let us know and we will contact the other trekkers in your group. A minimum of three (3) people is required for it to go ahead.

After your one night stay at Orohaven in Kokoda, you will be driven down to Poppondetta where you will visit the war memorial.
Following this you will be driven to Gona where you will be shown all the historical locations in the area. From Gona, you will board a boat and be transported to your first nights accommodation at Sanananda. Here you will be shown all the historical locations, including two museums.
The following day you will board a boat to Buna, where you will be shown all the historical sites in the area. You will then take a short walk along the beach back to Sanananda.
The following morning you will be transported to the Girua airstrip and board your flight back to Port Moresby and then your flight back to Australia.
